This is one of baseline premises of the online seminar \u201cLa sociedad civil en la conservaci\u00f3n del patrimonio cultural en el medio rural\u201d (Civil society in the preservation of cultural heritage in rural settings) organized by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.culturaydeporte.gob.es\/portada.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sport<\/a>\u00a0on October 26 and 27, in which\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.territoriomudejar.es\/\">Territorio Mud\u00e9jar\u00a0<\/a>took part.<\/p>\n\n<p>The seminar entailed a collective reflection on the importance of cultural associations created by civil society for the preservation of heritage in rural settings. Courses of action and management instruments focusing on safeguarding cultural heritage in rural settings were outlined during the seminar. The participants also shared examples of good practices applied to regions and heritage sites with great cultural value, so as to generate a sense of belonging among the inhabitants through this attention and even help to create jobs and improve social and economic management.<\/p>\n\n<p>The seminar was kicked off by Dolores Jim\u00e9nez Blanco, director general of Fine Arts, and Ana Cabrera Lafuente, deputy director general of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ipce.culturaydeporte.gob.es\/inicio.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IPC<\/a>. Lectures were also given by Mikel Landa (<a href=\"https:\/\/icomos.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICOMOS<\/a>), Mar\u00eda P\u00eda Tim\u00f3n and Elena Agromayor (IPCE), Sergio P\u00e9rez Mart\u00edn (program for the recovery and educational use of abandoned villages in Granadilla, Extremadura), Manuel Garc\u00eda F\u00e9lix (FEMP Committee for Historical and Cultural Heritage), Francisco Mestre (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lospueblosmasbonitosdeespana.org\/asociacion.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federaci\u00f3n de los pueblos m\u00e1s bonitos de Espa\u00f1a<\/a>, the federation of the most beautiful villages in Spain), Vicente Carvajal (Asociaci\u00f3n Cluny Ib\u00e9rica and Sociedad Econ\u00f3mica de los Amigos del Pa\u00eds, Le\u00f3n), Araceli Pereda (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hispanianostra.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hispania Nostra<\/a>), Antonio Berenguer (Campanero), Mar\u00eda Concepci\u00f3n Ben\u00edtez (heritage expert for the District of Sobrarbe and for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoparquepirineos.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sobrarbe-Pirineos UNESCO Global Geopark<\/a>), Jos\u00e9 Manuel Rodr\u00edguez Monta\u00f1\u00e9s (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amcsantiago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asociaci\u00f3n de Municipios del Camino de Santiago<\/a>, the association of municipalities along the Way of St. James) and Aniceto Delgado M\u00e9ndez (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.juntadeandalucia.es\/organismos\/culturaypatrimoniohistorico\/iaph.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IAPH<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<p>Furthermore, Territorio Mud\u00e9jar will also be participating in the online course \u201cGu\u00eda para planes de conservaci\u00f3n preventiva\u201d (Guide to preventive conservation plans) by the IPCE (Cultural Heritage Institute of Spain), which proposes a framework for generating standardized procedures to which quality control rules can be applied.<\/p>\n\n<p>Territorio Mud\u00e9jar will use this training to contribute to knowledge-building that can help our member towns identify and analyze cultural asset conservation issues in order to subsequently advise them on the implementation of procedures that address these issues.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.territoriomudejar.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/curso-mudejar-2.jpg\" alt=\"&#x25AB;&#xFE0F;\" class=\"wp-image-4223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.territoriomudejar.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/curso-mudejar-2.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.territoriomudejar.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/curso-mudejar-2-300x144.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.territoriomudejar.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/curso-mudejar-2-768x368.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ties between society and cultural heritage represent a potential factor for social cohesion, and this human dimension plays a key role in protecting heritage.
