{"id":23022,"date":"2024-12-14T12:34:04","date_gmt":"2024-12-14T11:34:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.territoriomudejar.es\/23rd-anniversary-of-the-declaration-of-the-churches-of-tobed-cervera-de-la-canada-and-the-collegiate-church-of-calatayud-as-world-heritage-sites\/"},"modified":"2025-05-07T10:14:41","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T08:14:41","slug":"23rd-anniversary-of-the-declaration-of-the-churches-of-tobed-cervera-de-la-canada-and-the-collegiate-church-of-calatayud-as-world-heritage-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.territoriomudejar.es\/en\/23rd-anniversary-of-the-declaration-of-the-churches-of-tobed-cervera-de-la-canada-and-the-collegiate-church-of-calatayud-as-world-heritage-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"23rd anniversary of the declaration of the churches of Tobed, Cervera de la Ca\u00f1ada, and the collegiate church of Calatayud as World Heritage Sites"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On this day, 23 years ago, and after almost two years of work, the Church of the Virgin of Tobed, Santa Tecla in Cervera de la Ca\u00f1ada, the Collegiate Church of Santa Mar\u00eda in Calatayud, La Seo, San Pablo and the Aljafer\u00eda in Zaragoza were added to the list of sites highlighted by UNESCO as sites of outstanding universal value in the declaration of the Mudejar Architecture of Aragon as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n\n<p>The extension of the declaration to the province of Zaragoza highlighted the territorial nature of a style in which history, art, materials, landscape, traditions, and people are key.<\/p>\n\n<p>We want to congratulate all those who work for this heritage and for their knowledge, undoubtedly the most powerful tool for its preventive conservation.<\/p>\n\n<p>And, above all, thanks to the inhabitants who maintain these heritage sites, guarantors of this rich legacy we have inherited.<\/p>\n\n<p>From Territorio Mud\u00e9jar, we celebrated this date today with the Mud\u00e9jar World Heritage Route, visiting the Collegiate Church of Santa Mar\u00eda de Calatayud, the Church of Santa Tecla de Cervera de la Ca\u00f1ada, and the Church of the Virgin of Tobed, churches that reveal the paradigms of the style that holds the UNESCO World Heritage status.
